In response to the Covid-19 pandemic, we are staying calm and doing all we can to be good employers and good neighbours. While we are committed to remain open to the best of our ability during this crisis, we take our staff and community’s health and well-being as our highest priority.
We are temporarily reducing our hours to allow our staff time to restock, clean and prepare in order to serve you better. We appreciate your patience and understanding and will return to regular hours as soon as we can. Sunday-Wednesday 10 am-8 pm, Thursday-Saturday 10 am-10pm.
We encourage our guests to help us reduce the risk of infection by following the guidelines outlined by the Public Health Agency of Canada. If you are coughing, sneezing, or have a fever, please stay home and self-isolate. Cough or sneeze into a tissue or the sleeve at the bend of your arm. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands.
We have taken measures to assist in social distancing to keep our staff and guests safe. We are restricting the number of guests who are in the store at one time. We have taped stand lines on the floor to keep guests at least one metre apart in line.
Take advantage of High Point Beer Wine Spirits e-commerce website where you can place your order online then pick up in store. If you call ahead 604-638-1632 and/or ring the buzzer to the right of the loading bay door in the alley, you can pick up without actually coming inside. ID required for pick up.
In stores, we are taking the following precautions to protect your health:
We have installed plexiglass barriers at our cashout stands. We have hand sanitizer available at the front entrance for customers. We have a security guard posted out front of the store during busy hours offering hand sanitizer and controlling the number of customers in the store to allow social distancing. We have store stickers and signage encouraging social distancing and asking customers not to touch items they are not buying. We are also encouraging customers to shop alone (one person per household) only once per week and load up rather than coming in several times a week with their partners.
Increased cleaning and sanitation on all surfaces and high touch points – counter tops, door handles, pinpads, ATM etc. Use of disposable gloves for all cleaning and cash handling. Educating our staff daily on the increased sanitation protocols.
We have temporarily stopped accepting empty bottle returns.
STAFF MEMBER HEALTH
We are reinforcing with staff members vigilant hand washing before, throughout and after their shifts.
We have asked staff members to refrain from coming to work if they are feeling sick. We will be assisting staff financially during the pandemic for those who feel sick, must quarantine due to exposure to confirmed Covid-19 case and to any who test positive for the virus. Managers are required to send home any staff showing signs of flu-like symptoms and to report any such incidences to Head Office.
We promise to actively monitor the updates and recommendations of the Public Health Agency of Canada and BC’s Provincial Health Office.
We wish all of you the best
